CRITIC’S PICK - When world renown composer, trombonist, arranger and original leader of The Buena Vista Social Club, Jesus “Aguaje” Ramos, brings The Buena Vista Social Orchestra to Center Stage on Thu., Sep. 26, Atlantans who haven’t yet caught the Cubano jazz bug need to get off the couch and get bit. Twenty-seven years after the deeply sophisticated, casually brilliant album, Buena Vista Social Club, won a Grammy and inspired Wim Wenders to make an award-winning feature film about the whole Cubano phenomenon, the Buena Vista Social Orchestra carries the legacy forward with many of the original Social Club players still doing their irresistibly swinging, joyous thing. – Doug DeLoach
