Scarecrows in the Garden (Oct. 6-31)
Scarecrows in the Garden brings to the Garden dozens of creations by local artists, crafters, youth groups and more. Entrants and visitors will delight in discovering their own personal favorites.
Fest-of-Ale (Oct 13 & 14, 19-21, 26-28)
Thursdays – Saturdays in October, explore the city’s most beautiful urban oasis during cool autumn evenings at Fest-of-Ale. Tickets available 5 – 8 p.m. Last entry 7 p.m.
Enjoy festive entertainment, live music, specialty brews and more while exploring Scarecrows in the Garden by flashlight during this ale-themed after-hours social. See the entertainment line-up.
Garden Beer
Garden Beer, a series of exclusive brews crafted in collaboration with Atlanta brewery Wild Heaven Beer, features seasonal flavors and ingredients harvested from the Garden.
Dinner at Longleaf
Enjoy dinner in the beautiful Garden restaurant Longleaf during Fest-of-Ale. Reservations not required, but recommended.

Goblins in the Garden (Oct. 22)
Join us for a day of fall family fun! This festive event offers music performances, pumpkin decorating, a ride-on-train, pony rides and more. Costumes encouraged!
Goblins Runway (10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.)
Show off your Halloween costume on the Goblins Runway!
“Music Party” with Travis Murphy (11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.)
Join us for Travis Murphy’s musical adventure as he explores different sounds, movements and silly lyrics with interactive elements. Mr. Travis has taught music to hundreds of preschool-aged children every week for the past 10 years in and around Atlanta. He also tours professionally with his band. Bring a blanket or ground cover if desired.
Children’s Ride-on-Train (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
$5 per passenger ($3 members), plus tax. Credit card only. Adults should accompany children 0-3 years old. Children 4+ are encouraged to ride alone if comfortable. Please note: the Ride-on-Train does not run during inclement weather. Last ticket sold at 3:30 p.m.
Pony Ride (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
$6 per passenger ($4 members), plus tax. Credit card only. Children only. Please note: the Pony Rides do not run during inclement weather. Last ticket sold at 3:30 p.m.

Journey to Literacy
Junior League of Atlanta’s Journey to Literacy is a hands-on program presented throughout the community to help raise awareness of the importance of early childhood education and to teach caregivers effective methods to develop early literacy skills.
Garden Chef Demos: Ilene Rouamvongsor (12 p.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m.)
In the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen, the Garden Chef showcases fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs in simple and mouthwatering recipes. Be inspired to try something new the next time you cook.
Great Pumpkin-Carving Festival (Oct. 26)
One of Atlanta’s favorite fall traditions, The Great Pumpkin-Carving Festival returns with live music, handcrafted cocktails, cookie classes, face painting, festival fare and more – all the makings of a wonderful autumn evening in the Garden. Costumes welcome!
Hardin Visitor Center
Enter the Hardin Visitor Center to family-friendly beats by a live DJ from Amp’d Entertainment, get a selfie at the fall photo op, and say “hello” to the autumn-clad stilt-walker who loves taking pics with guests.
Alston Overlook
For many in the South, fall means football. Get into the spirit with performances by the UGA Redcoat Alumni Band with a couple of sets 6 – 7 p.m.
Mershon Hall
Cookie season has officially arrived! Join Cookies by Jenny in Mershon Hall for quick, fall cookie decorating classes at 5:30, 6:15 and 7:30 p.m. Box them up or scarf them down!
Rose Garden
Take a breather as a beloved fall film plays on the big screen at 7 and 7:35.
Great Lawn
Enjoy nostalgic lawn games as the Getaway Band plays several sets of folksy fall music 5 – 9 p.m. Purchase savory and sweet pies or a plate for the mac-and-cheese bar by Dulce & Sabrosa.
Skyline Garden & Event Lawn
The main event begins at 6 p.m. in the Skyline Garden with the announcement of the 2023 Scarecrows in the Garden winners, the introduction of the pumpkin-carving teams and the start of the carving competition.
