NEWS BRIEF: Charlotte basketball player apologizes for Hawks game incident
Mouthpiece at center of controversy
Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges has apologized for throwing his mouthpiece in anger and striking a young girl in the face during Wednesday night’s losing game against the Atlanta Hawks. “That’s definitely unacceptable on my part, and I take full responsibility,” Bridges said after being ejected from the court. “I’m ready for any consequence that the NBA gives me.”
Bridges was already in trouble after picking up his second technical foul in the NBA’s Play-in Tournament, yielding a 132-103 victory for the Hawks and putting an end to the Hornets’ 2021-22 campaign. nbcnews.com
