Former Atlanta Braves player Freddie Freeman is apologizing for derogatory statements he made about the team at a press conference with the LA Dodgers. Freeman had derided Braves’ general manager Alex Anthopoulos and lamented the administration’s “lack of communication” during free agency negotiations.

“When we spoke earlier this week, I told Alex how much I enjoyed my time in Atlanta, especially last year when we all experienced the thrill of winning a World Series,” the first baseman wrote in a letter. “I also apologized for some of the comments I made during my introductory press conference with the Dodgers. It was a very emotional week for my family and I.” dodgersnation.com
