Everything’s coming up Stephanie
Pioneering NASA astronaut Stephanie Wilson is being honored with a temporary work of art in downtown Atlanta’s Woodruff Park. The eco-friendly grass crop installation is the creation of artist Stan Herd aided by kids from local schools and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta hospitals. The artwork occupies more than 7,000 square feet and promotes NASA’s Artemis Program whose intention is putting a woman and the first person of color on the moon, for which Wilson is a candidate. She has already spent 42 days in space, which is the most of any female African American astronaut. southernliving.com
