Miya Bailey was born and raised in Asheville, N.C., but he has made his mark on Atlanta and its people — both literally, as one of the city’s most accomplished tattoo artists, and figuratively, as an active presence in the local arts and culture scene. Along with founding the renowned tattoo studio City of Ink, Bailey has also released an independent documentary about the legacy of black tattoo artists and opened Notch8 Gallery, where he serves as an art curator and dealer. He explains what brought him to Atlanta and where to find inspiration.
